LG Promises Large Screen and Long Battery Life with G Pad II 10.1

LG announced on Monday the next G Pad tablet model, the G Pad II 10.1. The company plans to give its newest tablet an official unveiling at IFA 2015 in Berlin next month. But for now LG is giving a peek at some of the G Pad II’s specs and features.

You won’t likely get the highest specs or super clear display out of the G Pad II. But what the tablet is promising is a large screen with long battery life at a decent price.

Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company, says in the official company release:

“The LG G Pad II 10.1 was developed in response to consumers’ feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption. Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts.”

The G Pad II boasts a 10.1-inch, 1920×1200 display. LG claims the 7,400mAh battery can support hours of use without needing to be charged.

The tablet offers Reader Mode for making reading ebooks easier on the eyes. A Dual Window feature lets users run two apps at once. And QuickMemo+ offers the ability to write up a memo, save it, and share it from any screen.

To sweeten the deal, Microsoft Office for Android tablet comes pre-installed, and users can get 100GB of free OneDrive storage for 2 years.

Other specs LG includes in the announcement for the G Pad II are a 2.26GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, and 16GB of memory with 2GB RAM.

LG gives no details on pricing or availability in the announcement, only saying more information will be given locally at the time of launch. But for those attending IFA in September, they can get a look of the G Pad II up close and personal.
