Buyers Dissatisfied With Car Technology, Reliability Study Says

A J.D. Power report finds problems with in-vehicle technology of 2015 cars. Consumers say unreliable navigation systems and other issues are eroding trust when it comes to rating a car’s performance.

The big problem is that basic stuff has been EMBEDDED in the info-tainment functions.

For example, it is VERY UNcommon now that you can reach over (without looking) and slide a lever, slightly, for a bit more heat…..another for a bit more exterior air; rotate another to kill the fan, since you’re at highway speeds.

So many ‘systems’ REQUIRE a long glance, at minimum, to find and execute on a screen…….clearly away from a line of ‘vision forward.’

And whilst window openers are somewhat universal, door latches aren’t there, yet……and wipers/wash, cruise control, defrtoster, A/C, tilt/telescope latching; GPS input………all vary wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Deliver me from any talk of self-drivers until the above variety is addressed.
