IT solutions company is the only UK representative on new global Microsoft programme
UK based innovative technology solutions company TSG Ltd has been announced as one of 11 worldwide businesses to become a charter member of Microsoft’s limited SharePoint Business Applications Partner Program, the only UK-based partner involved.
The news comes shortly after the business announced it had increased the number of Microsoft Gold competencies it held to 9 accreditations.
The Microsoft programme is designed to help businesses digitally transform through the use of innovative technology, in particular SharePoint and its supporting apps named “intelligent business applications”.
Dave Rawes, Director of Microsoft Solutions at TSG, said: “This is further evidence that we’re a standout Microsoft partner, in addition to our 9 Gold competencies and the seats we’ve held on Microsoft’s Global Advisory Council.
“We’re one of the most comprehensive Microsoft business partners not only in the UK but in the world, with the ability to manage a customer’s entire IT estate using Microsoft solutions.
“We’re delighted that we’ve been progressing at the same pace and in the same way as Microsoft. Our inclusion in this programme is largely thanks to what was once our SharePoint team, which is now the Office 365 Productivity team. The team has adapted from traditional SharePoint projects to embrace the whole Office 365 suite in order to create such innovative solutions.”
The selection process for the programme was rigorous as TSG evidenced work it had done with the suite of Microsoft applications. One case study included in the application was with H. Malone & Sons, an established, family-owned Gosforth-based mechanical services contractor.
- Malone & Sons had undertaken a project auditing over 2000 properties on the iconic Byker Wall to assess the heating and domestic water systems in the homes. The business had Office 365 in place and chose to leverage its investment in the application suite in the Byker Wall project.
TSG implemented a solution that allowed H. Malone & Sons to manage the entire process using Office 365 including an app builder, workflow automation tool, SharePoint and a data visualisation dashboard to evaluate the project.
Graham Reid, Project Director at H. Malone & Sons, said of the project: The Byker Wall project is the latest in a long line projects with the Byker Trust that we have been involved in over the last 5 years or more. This phase of the project presented some challenging issues in managing the collected data of the surveyed properties in terms of security and workflow to keep the project on task and in budget.
“The solution TSG has provided not only streamlines our daily data recording tasks but simplifies our back-office invoicing and payment workflows. It also has the added benefit that we can pass important asset data back to the Byker Trust team so that they can keep track of the project progress and more importantly, import data into their own asset management tools.
“We are so happy with the solution that TSG has provided that we are now envisaging using it, with minor amendments, on other similar style projects that we are currently looking at.”
Rawes further commented: “This is a great North East success story. Newcastle is at the forefront of a digital revolution in the UK with the highest concentration of tech start-ups and a Digital and Smart Cities initiative through NE1.
“We want businesses to know that the North East is a great place to do business; especially for the digitally-literate generation of companies. We’re evidence that the region has fantastic tech talent and together with North East stalwarts like H. Malone & Sons, we’re leading the way in innovation.”
