DriveU- Hire a driver

DriveU – a service available in major metro cities around the country, which lets you hire a driver with only a few taps on a mobile device. The android and the iOS apps are available in the App store, and customers can get themselves a chauffeur who drives them to the destination in the comfort of their own car.

Services offered

DriveU lets you hire a chauffeur for any journey, long or short and office drives without any difficulty. Traffic is one of the biggest problems a commuter faces in a metro city, especially if you drive yourself to work. Driving through the tight jam of vehicles, honking horns all around you- can really multiply your stress and spoil the mood for the rest of your day. Traffic jams also waste a lot of your time, which could be put to better use- and DriveU lets you do just that. As you sit relaxed at the back of your car, you can choose to spend your new-found time however you want.

The ‘Drivers for hire’ service can also be used for any outstation trips or vacations you plan using a driver for outstation trips is not only safer, but it gives you a better experience. Professional drivers are more accustomed to driving through unknown terrains and routes and are a better option than you taking on the responsibility yourself. Also, vacationers can completely enjoy themselves since none of them have to worry about the responsibilities while driving.

Journey fares and Payment methods

For domestic trips, the DriveU fare starts at Rs.89 per hour. From the second hour, the charge is calculated per minute, and so it becomes one of the most economic services available right now. For trips ending between 10 PM and 6 AM, an extra night charge of Rs.150 is added to the total fare. Similarly, for one-way trips, Rs.100 is added as one-way charge. For outstation trips, though, the fare is different. The fare starts at Rs.1199 for the first 24 hours, and then Rs.599 is added per 12 hours extended. However, the food and accommodation of the driver must be taken care of by the customer itself.

At the end of the journey, the customer gets a detailed summary of the charges, and a fare breakdown. The fare can be paid directly to the driver via cash, or by electronic methods facilitated by the DriveU app. You also have the option of choosing to use e-wallet services such as Paytm, MobiKwik and DriveU wallet to pay the journey fare.
