The Reasons I adore Gadgets The RepairDesk for Digital Transformation

Service Desk's Role in Digital Transformation

Why are you running a repair shop? For some, it’s because they like fixing stuff, and for others, it’s a pastime turned into a profession. However, I Love Gadgets’ Krunal Patel sees it as a utopia for environmentalists and IT enthusiasts. Krunal had enough motivation to start his repair business to fill the gap in the market that existed in the repair industry in New Zealand. He also had the goal of lowering his carbon footprint on the environment. His initial attempt to go digital with previous POS systems was unsuccessful, primarily due to the provider’s inadequate customer support. That’s when Krunal searched for a repair shop management software on ChatGPT and found RepairDesk.

The Business

I Love Gadgets is a one-stop shop for everything tech-related. It was founded by Krunal Patel, the city’s most seasoned tech pro and entrepreneur. Whether you’re looking for a battery replacement on your iPhone or want to build a custom PC, you name it, and they will do it for you. Within one year, I Love Gadgets has established a strong reputation thanks to its excellent service quality and customer-first approach.
Krunal Patel, an environmentalist as well, aims to help people make better use of their gadgets while also lowering their carbon footprint. He has run IT companies before and researched the electric vehicle market in India. He is always interested in learning more about technology. It’s his passion for innovation and exploring new gadgets that drives the growth of the repair shop. Krunal has also trained his team of 5 technicians with the same passion, as he loves to take on new challenges every day at his repair shop.
The Obstacle Krunal was running repair operations with nothing more than a diary, a pen, and paper in his early days at I Love Gadgets. As the number of repairs increased, this conventional method was quickly eliminated. In the repair industry, where accuracy and timely delivery are crucial, Krunal found it best to go digital.

In his quest, Krunal briefly tried a POS system but found it lacking, particularly in customer support.
“There was no one to, you know, reach out and ask questions,” recalls Krunal.

“No repair company can afford to have customer service interrupted.” Pretty soon, it became clear that the system would not allow Krunal to achieve his growth objectives. Krunal turned to ChatGPT for suggestions — and one name stood out: RepairDesk.

The Solution

Right out of the box, the customer-centric approach stood out to Krunal. He was convinced that the platform could be tailored to his shop’s unique needs.

“Whenever I have a new idea, the RepairDesk development team actively works to bring it to life — that makes my work much easier,” says Krunal.
He loved the customizability offered by RepairDesk, as it allowed him to give the POS software a look and feel that he desired. Additionally, a dedicated onboarding specialist from RepairDesk ensured a seamless transition to the comprehensive system. Thanks to reliable updates and prompt customer support, Krunal saw his ideas becoming a reality.
“I want to train my staff the same way as RepairDesk’s onboarding specialist trained me”, says Krunal.

I Love Gadgets Uses RepairDesk Features Customer Facing Display
The Customer Facing Display, which enables customers to review and sign terms and conditions prior to repairs beginning, is one of Krunal’s favorite features. They can review every detail in their invoice, including taxes and discounts. This way, he can have peace of mind as his customers know exactly what’s happening. Both parties have essentially agreed on the repair service, so if anything goes wrong, no one can be blamed.

Customization & Feature Implementation

Not only does RepairDesk offer customization out of the gate, but the development team behind it can also develop new features to suit Krunal’s repair shop needs. He loves how they bring his ideas to life and help him cope with his growing business.

His passion for gadgets means that he is willing to repair anything that a customer brings to his desk. Therefore, a highly customizable and customer-centric repair shop software is essential for businesses that plan to expand into new verticals, such as drone repair and AI-based gadgets.

M360 Integration

Another feature that stands out for Krunal is RepairDesk’s integration with M360 Diagnostics. Accurate device diagnostics enable him to offer two distinct categories of repairs to his customers: Standard and Premium.
Krunal can provide his customers with more assurance that the repairs are genuine by making use of the extensive diagnostic reports that M360 provides. This reduces troubleshooting time and creates a more professional, transparent repair process.

What the Future Holds for I Love Gadgets

With one year of operations under his belt, Krunal is already thinking big for I Love Gadgets. He’s working on launching a website to meet pending data requirements, integrating RepairDesk more deeply into his business model, and exploring marketing channels to reach customers across New Zealand, even in remote areas.
